Certus Earns Two New ADISA Recertifications for Data Erasure

We’re excited to announce that Certus has earned two new ADISA recertifications, further demonstrating the strength of our data erasure technology. ADISA Recertification for Mobile Devices

Certus Erasure for Mobile Devices v2.21.0 has successfully passed the ADISA Product Claims Test as part of our recertification process. This extends our certification through to 2029 and confirms that our solution continues to meet ADISA’s rigorous standards.

The recertification also verifies that Certus remains fully up to date with the latest iOS and Android developments and updates from recent years, ensuring organisations can confidently rely on Certus software for secure and certified data erasure on modern mobile devices.

During the testing process, devices were filled with user data and then sanitized using the Certus erasure software. After the wipe, the devices were analyzed using forensic and data recovery tools. The results confirmed that user data could not be recovered, demonstrating that the erasure process effectively removes sensitive information from the devices.

The solution achieved ADISA Assurance Level 4, confirming that the erasure outcome is suitable for devices intended for reuse.

ADISA Recertification for Devices with Embedded Drives

Certus also passed the ADISA Product Claims Test for Certus Erasure for M-Series v0.6.0. The recertification applies to devices that use embedded storage, a technology that is common in modern hardware platforms.

As part of the ADISA testing process, the solution was validated on a recent Apple MacBook Air with an M4 processor. Devices with embedded drives are widely used across Apple M-series systems and are also increasingly found in newer Windows laptops based on Snapdragon CPUs.

In the ADISA testing environment, the device was first filled with multiple types of user data. After the erasure process was completed, the system was analyzed using commercial forensic tools and specialized ADISA recovery techniques. The analysis confirmed that all user data had been successfully removed and could not be retrieved.

This recertification also achieved ADISA Assurance Level 4, demonstrating strong verification of the data sanitization process.
